About the Presentation

Concrete provides a strong and durable surface for vehicle maneuvering and storage areas, making it especially suited for site paving at industrial and trucking facilities.  These facilities are often designed to handle over the road trucks as well as other types of equipment such as fork-lifts. The American Concrete Institute’s ACI 330.2R-17: Guide for the Design and Construction of Concrete Site Paving for Industrial and Trucking Facilities emphasizes the differences between designing standard and heavy-duty parking lot pavements.

Learning Objective 1: Review ACI 330R-21 and ACI 330.2R-17 and identify the differences in methodology between the two documents.

Learning Objective 2: Learn to determine appropriate pavement thickness per ACI 330.2R-17 recommendations.

Learning Objective 3: Review pavement joint spacing and reinforcement recommendations per ACI 330.2R-17.

Learning Objective 4: Learn about available resources for design and construction of concrete parking lots
